So why hasn't the Met office started issuing forecasts for the next three
months? My own personal opinion is that it cannot be done with a shred of
accuracy by neither yourself or Metcheck. So its back to lets wait and see.

AN UNSETTLED PERIOD WITH FREQUENT SHOWERS ESPECIALLY IN THE NORTH AND
WEST. FREQUENT DEPRESSIONS IN THE NORTH-WEST: BEST WEATHER IN THE
EXTREME SOUTH-EAST AND THE NEAR CONTINENT.

The single chart for the period 1st to 10th December, shows low
pressure to the NW of Scotland and high pressure to the SE of the
country. The extreme SE of England may just benefit from the HP.
Winds will be mostly SW over the whole country with some strong winds to
the NW of Ireland and the W of Scotland. Most showers can generally
be expected in the west and north-west of the country, dryest in the
extreme SE of England.
A single chart for the period 1st to 31st December has a deep depression
covering W Scotland, Ireland and SW England. Winds are generally
expected to be from a southerly direction. Generally mild conditions
over most areas and many rainy days, especially in the west.

On 1st and 2nd, cooler air comes into the W of Ireland and milder air
comes into the south of England and drifts eastwards. On 3rd and 4th,
cooler air moves eastwards across Scotland; mildest air in the extreme
south-east of England moves off east. On 5th and 6th, with cool air to
the W of Scotland, mild air pushes into SW England and drifts E and NE
into England. From 7th to 9th, cooler air covers the west of
Scotland, milder air travels eastwards along the French coast. hardly
affecting S England. On 10th, cool air to the W of Scotland and
slightly milder air drifts into S and SE England.

The run of weather starts on Wednesday, 1st with a depression touching
W Scotland and a secondary depression near Ireland. A small flat ridge
of HP over SE England at first, moves away eastwards. Winds are S or
SW, strong over Scotland and the northern North Sea, and breezy off
the SW of England. A front stretching S and SW from Ireland moves
eastwards. Showers in most places. Dryer at first in the SE of
England.
On Thurs. 2nd, a depression to the W and NW of Scotland has a
secondary depression near SW England. HP lies over the near
continent. Winds are S, strongest in the SW of England. Heavy rain
over Scotland and rain showers over most of the country except the
extreme SE of England.
On Fri. 3rd, a belt of LP stretches from Northern Ireland
NE'wards towards SW Norway. There may be a wave over North England
moving NE'wards into the North Sea. Winds are SW, strong in the SW of
the country. Heavy rain expected in Scotland and rain showers expected
elsewhere. Dryest in the SE of England.
On Sat. 4th, a LP area to the north of Scotland moves away
eastwards and relatively high pressure stretches from W/E across
central areas. In the south, a small depression can be expected near
the Channel. Winds are W turning NW over Scotland, light over central
areas, and possibly E in the extreme south. Strongest winds in the
SW. Heavy rain over Scotland and showers expected elsewhere. Dryest
area should be the SW of England.
On Sun. 5th, a belt of HP runs along the Channel from W/E and
forms a small ridge in the S North Sea. A new depression over the
Atlantic moves towards W Scotland. A front stretches from the
depression down Ireland to SW England and moves NE'wards. Winds are
generally SW, strongest to the W of Scotland. Rain showers over most
areas. Dryest over NE Scotland at first.
On Mon. 6th, a complex belt of L stretches from near Iceland to
NE Scotland. A secondary depression moves in the direction of Northern
Ireland. A flat ridge of HP touches S Ireland and moves towards SW
England. Winds are WNW, strongest in the W and E of Scotland. Rain
showers over N and E Scotland and also over S Ireland later.
On Tues. 7th, a depression lies to the NW of Scotland and a belt
of HP runs W/E along the Channel, covering the extreme SE of England.
Winds are SW at first, turning W in the west. Winds strong in the W
of Scotland. Heavy rain over W and E Scotland, showers elsewhere.
On Wed. 8th, a depression in the Atlantic to the W of Scotland has
a trough to E Scotland. A secondary depression is moving eastwards
towards the Channel and SW England. Winds are mostly W, strongest to
the NW of Ireland and the W of Scotland. Heavy rain expected in the S
and SW of England and showers over Scotland.
On Thurs. 9th, LP comes towards NW Scotland and a secondary
depression drifts along the Channel. Fronts run down the W coast of
Britain. Winds are W over Scotland and variable over the rest of
the country. Strongest winds to the W of Scotland. Showers over
most of the country. but heavy rain over the Channel and S England.
On Fri. 10th, a depression comes into Northern Ireland and the W
of Scotland. Another depression lies over NE Scotland. Fronts of the
first depression cover Northern Ireland and the Irish Sea to Wales,
leaving a warm sector over Ireland. Winds are W or SW, strongest to the
W and SW of Ireland. Heavy rain expected over Scotland with showers
elsewhere.

I've done it. A lot of work, but I don't think I've left anything out.
All being well, I hope to be back on-line before this forecast has
been realized.
