Just looking at current temperatures around the South West tonight,
could the South West break some of its lowest temperature records
tonight?

Temperatures at 20:00
Exeter - 8°Chttp://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EGTE.html
Yeolvilton * -9°Chttp://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EGDY.html
Bristol 4°Chttp://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EGGD.html
Plymouth -4°Chttp://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EGHD.html
Culdrose 1°Chttp://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/EGDR.html

The coldest temperature for Exeter I can find is -13°C which occurred
2nd Jan 1979, unfortunately records don't go back further than 1973.http://www.tutiempo.net/clima/Exeter...1979/38390.htm

The lowest temperature in Teignmouth that I know of occurred in
January 1987 and was -9°C. *At the time I chose to do a school project
on the weather of Teignmouth, towards my O' Level Environmental
Studies (Grade A), and had to record the temperatures from the
official Teignmouth Met Station.

Good call.
*-19C at Lapford, mid-Devon, if verified is a record for Devon.
