Urban Lake Leeds still frozen
In article ,
Rob Brooks writes:
A Large man made shallow lake is still 50% frozen off the Leeds main Ring
Road. For those of you that know Leeds this is the Farnley lake. An
observation that may be of interest - practically all the snow from the cold
spell has now melted apart from man made piles and deeper accumulations, but
the lake is still frozen more than at any time in the last 25 years.
Ice always seems to melt much more slowly than snow, I suppose because
snow is mostly air so there isn't as much to melt.
