Let's forget about 1979 then???????

If you put Dec 2009, Jan 2010 and Feb 2009 as a Winter, it still would
not come close to 1979 as regards cold or snow!!!!!!!!!!

What a joke!

Graham

It's the bleedin media (and therefore entertainment) Graham, what did you
expect?!

I know I shouldn't let the media wind me up Will!
It really does annoy me when these people can't get their facts right and
come up with these stupid programs and even more stupid statements!
It's like our local radio station a few days ago saying it's official,
January 2010 is the coldest January for 47 years, excuse me there are
still 15 days left!!!!!
I suppose it's much more dramatic saying the coldest for 47 years than a
boring old 30 years.
Just to point out a simple little fact the media felt they would overlook,
the mean temperature for 1979 WAS -1.2c, and 2010 is now up to -0.1c!!
But then again I suppose we could ignore that irritating little fact and
agree with the media, January 2010 it is the coldest for 47 years

If it turns colder as expected early next week then I reckon we could
end up with a CET of around zero. If it turns out to be negative then
that would be quite remarkable for recent times. No month has had a
negative CET since Feb 1986 (-1.1C) and even throughout the series
negative months were always pretty rare.
