Siberian High
My friend in Texas just sent me this today:
"Was looking at Asian data today and noticed that Ulaangon, Mongolia
reached perhaps the 3rd highest pressure ever recorded with 1082.6 mb
today!"

Looking at all of the main models and ensembles I don't see the Siberian
High, as such, having much direct effect on our weather in the next 5-10
days. In other words - no bitter easterlies yet, which have frequently been
mooted this winter. There does however seem to be a trend to colder weather
and and HP systems about but centred nearer to the UK at this stage. I just
hope we don't get more gloom.
