It really is buckling at T+120, it's a shame there's that strong SSW Jet
toward Iceland, I guess that's what's stopping the Scandi High settling
further north. A shame as there's some mighty cold air coming down to
our east over the next few days.

As in ox-bow lake formation the jetstream breaks across loops rather than
contracting latitudinally. Do you know what to look for that predicts this
shedding to appear ? ie whrther breaking at the top or the bottom of the
"river"?
