Unimpressive northerly in the south?

Could be. We'll have to wait and see really. No snow warnings out for
anywhere except for the hills of NE Scotland on Sunday and the west
coast feature on Thurs/ Fri looks like it will probably be cold rain
for almost all.
The warning for Grampian as I read it suggests snow for all
levels, with drifting and blizzards for the high ground. An
easy way to tell for this region is that Aberdeenshire gets
it's own little enclave within the Grampian region. You
wouldn't believe the number of times that you get big red
warnings for Grampian and Aberdeenshire is a little oasis of
green.
My weekend on I'm afraid, so I'll probably be out of Aberdeen
and into the countryside.

"Frequent heavy snow showers affecting northern and eastern
Scotland on Sunday are likely to bring significant
accumulations of snow in places. Strong winds may also lead to
drifting of snow and blizzard conditions, especially over high
ground."
Will we get low level snow lying in Aberdeen on Sunday or not?
Experience tells me not to expect too much.
