Interesting stuff Ken.

My 10cm soil fell below 0.0C for one day (10th) under 8cm snow cover.

1cm soil -0.5C
10 cm soil -0.1C
30 cm soil +1.6C
60 cm soil +2.5C

all at 1800 hours.

From the 5th to 9th it was reading 0.0C exactly and on 11th.
On 12th it rose above zero and has stayed that way.
