Around 2cm of new snow and a gusty ENE'rly. Light snow falling. The
giant snowball was just about there when the new snow fell so we have
a snow on the ground connection from mid December until today. Plenty
of snow cover before this new snow from 800 feet and above anyway (on
the south side of the valley).

Snowballs don't count as snow cover (;-)) We've had heaps of snow here since
mid-December but for the last four days there has been less than 50% snow
cover in the garden. Not so this morning! Snow started at about 0800z and
now (1100z) we have around 10cm. and it looks as if it will snow like this
all day. Vis 200m, temperature minus 3.6C (after an overnight low of minus
12.6C. wind calm.
