My first thought was that we don't need it every 5 minutes, there are
not enough changes in that time. But as it roughly halves the average
delay between each radar sweep and being able to view it, that makes
it worthwhile.

I see the 8 hour half-hourly animations are still there but the 8 hour
15-minute animation is replaced by an 8 hour 5-minute animation, which
runs very smoothly if it's saved and replayed.
