Make the most of today and tomorrow in the west and Wednesday in the
east, before the rain starts. Much more unsettled-looking after that
as we experience a pattern-change to Atlantic weather; the high will
sink SE, allowing rain-bearing fronts across the UK. It has been very
well modelled from a week ago. No great problems with temperatures
this week; tomorrow could be the last frosty morning for a while,
looking at the 12z ECM and the gfs ensembles. In gaps between the
rain, the sun will be strong and it could feel very pleasant, with the
first 60F of the year possible in the SE this weekend. Even further
afield, it doesn't look dreadful in terms of temperatures towards
April on this morning's models. Daytime temperatures average for many
areas, at worst and some warmer nights might even advance the CET,
after a certain boost this week.

Rain would certainly represent a change here in Cheshire, little more than
dew in the 5" gauge so far this month, only 1mm on the VP2, quite remarkable
in my limited observing experience.

Might even dust off and try out the gold clubs

So rich, these Southerners ;-)

in the Devon sunshine
this afternoon. Another lovely day down here. Sunny and mild at 10C,
but still some cool in a variable, light wind.

The first half of March has been lovely here, too. *Average temp 3.6C so far
(cf 6.1C, 30-year), following cool December (3.1C cf 4.7C), Jan (1.4C cf
4.0C) and Feb (2.4C cf 4.2C). *A BBQ winter, it wasn't.

Question is - is it safe to mow the lawn yet?

Mowed the lawn twice so far. Might be worth taking this dry
opportunity, or it might be a foot high before you can get on again
with the mower!

Dunno about gold clubs in my case. More like lead ones the way I often
play! *))
