Not on the higher roads Fred, I'd imagine there'll be no chance of getting
over any higher routes soon as colder air is getting sucked into the system
and heads southwards. The towns and cities might well get hammered tonight.
The potential for a severe blizzard and total whiteout conditions warrants
the warnings. It reminds me a lot of the conditions at the tail end of
February 2001, but this system is more vigarous - if 1 or 2ºC warmer to
begin with.
I'm not sure the eastern half of southern Scotland will fair worse than the
western half mind you. I'd have thought it would be the other way about.
