It was quite good in NW Cumbria as well. After 2 nights of foggy skies
I was
delighted to see a nice clear sky and a nice green glow. A few streamers
appeared but then it just went sort of amorphous. But hey, maybe I'm
missing
something, by sitting here.........

Well the sky fogged over not long after I posted, but I just know
there'll be a miraculous clearance just as I go to bed. Remember the
advert where some rare pandas (or something) only came out to play every
time the man turned away....

Unfortunately the storm's not as strong as it was, owing to the
interplanetary magnetic field tilting from south to north - according to
spaceweather.com anyway. Certainly the activity on the Met Office
webcams has died away, and the University of Lancashire's Aurorawatch
page is reporting only moderate activity.
