Noticed an even larger diurnal range on the 23rd at Santon Downham in
Suffolk. Max 28.4C with a min of 4.6C and diurnal range of 23.8C.
A rather more modest range of 16.5C here in Raunds, Northants.
Max 26.7C, Min 10.2C. No sandy soil or frost hollow here ;(

Ian,

Raunds, East Northants. 63m amsl. NGRSP9972.

Yes thanks for your info. The sandy Breckland do record some
extraordinary minima and nearby to Santon Downham Lynford I believe
recorded minus 9.4C on the 11th May 1941. That would be very low for
most people even in the midde of January.
