Brilliant wall to wall sunshine and crystal clear skies. Heaven.
I'm sure many have been much cooler along the east coast.

The difference between the coast and inland also affected the South
forecast on BBC Breakfast yesterday. On the 4-day outlook panel, the
temperature for Saturday was shown as 21C but Reham Khan said it would
be warmer inland and on the next broadcast she'd altered it to 25C.
Presumably, the automatic value for the panel is taken from the
Southampton F/C?

The forecasts always seem to allow for sea breezes on Scilly, when
they barely exist as the Islands are too small. So the forecast for
yesterday (given the prior evening) was 14C (the surrounding SST is
13-14C, the SST in the calm pool between the Islands is now 16C.)
It actually reached around near 19C at the hill top airport, 21C on
St. Martin's. During an early Summer warm spell Scilly is often the
coolest place in the SW when there is a moderate/fresh gradient wind
(as Thurs) but it's very different in still conditions like yesterday.
The forecasts (local TV as well as the 5 day computer generated
rubbish) never seem to take this into account.
