Well the latest NAE model has downgraded the rain from 23mm to 17mm for
the next 48 hours fore here. TAFs are only going for -RA, and the
forecast suggests light rain with a low risk of heavier showers in the
SE. Seems pretty borderline on anything substantial.
Interesting! Anyway, have taken a £5 bet with son-in-law after a
family gathering last night in which my youngest daughter goaded me
with a series of entirely erroneus comments about incorrect weather
forecasts.

I've got a daughter like that ;-)

Well my daughter insists I provide her with forecasts for her various
mountain trips in Europe. There's no getting out of it and I get a review
afterwards. Fortunately I've done pretty well, one week they came back from
Austria and they said that my forecast of snow line and weather (given over
a week ahead) was consistently better than the local forecasts a day
ahead!!! She is a hard task master and is not averse to ringing me up from
some remote Scottish mountain and asking for a difficult forecast - like
when is the snow going to stop? :-)
