Now you're assuming that because I live in Scotland I'm Scottish. I'm
English through and through. My mother, researching our family tree,
became SO excited when she discovered that one of her
great-grandparents came "from up north" (i.e. Leicester).

I am distraught about the football, but not surprised, and it wasn't as
upsetting as, say 1990, and nowhere near as bad as 1970, when as a
young boy I was reduced to tears.
