My commiserations Ken, 11.1°C must have been pretty miserable for a July
'summer' day.
Sort of reminds me when we had friends over from Greece in August 2008, they
were here only for 4 days and the weather was foul, and very cold (for
here), especially on the 13th when the max was only 15.4°C making it the
coldest July or August day max I have recorded.
No doubt that the experience re-enforced the idea to them that it is always
cold and raining in Britain, no matter what the season.
Along with July 2009, August 2008 really was the most dreadful of summer
months.
This July so far has been positively tropical in comparison.
