Default 26 September 1991

In article 2004111720250216807%taharley@dundeeacuk,
Trevor Harley writes:
I have a colleague who claims that it snowed in the Doncaster region on
26 September 1991.

I think this is most implausible, even on high ground. I know September
1991 was a warm month overall, but it had a cold, unsetttled spell
around the 26th - but not that cold.

Please tell me that I am right.

It seems more likely to have been hail than snow. According to Mr Eden
in Weather Log: "Heavy rain and thunderstorms affected England and Wales
on the 26th, lingering into the following day in the east. This was a
cold day - the maximum at Tummel Bridge only 7.6C."

"Well, actually, they're American."
"So what brings you to Britain then if you have cornflakes already?"
