Today I've just returned from 4 hours at Sennen, where the sunshine
was virtually unbroken (pretty medium cumulus just inland), the
visibility was very good, the sea was about the warmest all year
(certainly noticeably warmer than at any time in August, when there
seemed to be a bit pf a cool pool around Land's End), & the surf 4'+ &

Max in Penzance (so far) 20.1
Slack areas of low pressure often give some of the best weather right
on the coast, esp in September, when they often (as today) have
imported some warm humid air. September anticyclones have a habit of
being noticeably chillier. Today's felt like proper summer again.
Sharp showers just inland of the south coast from Falmouth eastwards
though, must be the effect of being too close to the English.

The coast is the coast Graham, whether you are in Cornwall or Devon.
Glorious, sparklingly clear day here in Wembury, but deeper convection
and showers inland.
