Yesterday a chain of snow showers, induced by open sea at Gulf of
Finland, poured (is there a more approppriate word for solid
precipitation ?) snow to coastal parts of the town, and at the entire
southern coastline (up to 20 cm). Bad driving conditions but no serious
accidents. Snow blocked the moving parts of tram tracks so in the
evening tracks there were delays up to one hour.

Yes this reminds me of another town on an lonely island...
