Imagine poor old Tudor having to junp start his Trombone!
I wouldn't go anywhere near a trombone in conditions like that. Quite
apart from the mouthpiece freezing to your lips it would play dreadfully flat.
Would it not play sharp, as it would contract in the cold? Anyway, you're
lucky with a trombone in that you can easily compensate for this with the
slider. It's not so easy on other wind instruments.
