Why does the journalist in Scotland keep calling the conditions "white
out" when it clearly isn't so? They have been doing it all morning on
News-24 and it's very annoying.

Rant over, thank you.

I thought that. Lots of snow but I could see at least 400m behind her,
although it might well have been at times, I guess.

I've walked in mountains all my life and I have never been in a white-out.
In a white-out you will not know whether you are on your head or standing
there will be white all round up/down/left/right and you will not be able to
see more than a metre. Almost had that in the Cairngorms but I could just
see where to go, which was just as well as there was an ice cliff 100 metres
away!

Some people haven't a clue.
