For the 4th night running ,it looks like a small low developing in the
north sea off sunderland and running quickly inland.

I was looking at a 24-hour animation of the rainfall yesterday to look
at the subtleties in the flow and what looks like a small low crossed
WNW-wards just north of the Wash across northern England yesterday at
around 1530 GMT onwards with a very clear circulation in the radar
imagery. Very interesting - and kudos to the NAE's 00z run for picking
it up:

Thunderstorm, snow and tree limbs brought down in the Channel Islands
on Saturday morning as a polar low spun up. Satellite and 3km model
output show an eyelike feature.
