... (1300Z): deepening Cu produced shower rain/snow mixed & snow
pellets from 1225Z, then the cloud transformed to layer type (though
no doubt Cu there / can't see it), and we've got light snow flakes
now - no impact surface/minimal impact visibility. OAT =
+2.0°C/DP=-0.4°C
... (1355Z): after another 10-15 minutes of 'proper' flake aggregates,
snow ceased. Surfaces damp - cloud breaking - weak sunshine occasionally
through thin upper cloud. OAT=+1.9°C.
... (1550Z): individual flakes of snow from shallow-depth Cu passing
across, thin Ac above and extensive CiCs above that. OAT currently
+1.4°C/DP-0.8°C. No snow on any surfaces, which latter are damp. The wind
just a shade 'keener' now.
Martin.
It's always so marginal with you Martin. Thanks for the reports, been useful
to know ground truth upwind.
