Records tumble in east Scotland. Last night at 3 am I recorded -11.2C -
a new record low for me and my first recording beneath -10. It warmed
up quite a bit after that, currently at -4.4, with cloud cover comingin
from the west.
This is my 23rd year of taking accurate weather measurements. I just
missed January 1987 in Coventry, which was exceptional and perhaps
comparable.
We are now also entering our 73rd hour of frost, with my record of 80
hours set 5-9 January earlier this year in the balance.
I take all the credit for this, personally, of course. Well done me!
