Default Cold front in Brussels this evening - snow since 18.30

Brussels on Thursday 16th December 2010

Overcast and damp morning with drizzle now and again. Moderate rain set in
soon after midday and continued through the afternoon.

Cold front just after 18.00 local time. Quite a heavy fall of ice pellets
with some rain mixed in between about 18.20 and 18.30. Steady moderate
snow from 18.30 until about 20.30 when it decreased in intensity. Light
snow still falling now at 21.45 but the moon can be seen vaguely through the
cloud. About 6 cm lying snow on the grass in front of my windows -
probably a bit less on hard surfaces.

Moderate, sometimes fresh, SW wind veered abruptly to NE on the cold front
but has now fallen light. Temperature fell from nearly 4°C to 0°C in the
snow and it is starting to freeze now.

Brussels Uccle 3.7°C - overnight minimum -0.7°C - and 12 mm rainfall
Brussels Airport 3.9°C - overnight minimum -0.9°C - and 10 mm
