A couple of times recently Maplin has reduced the price of the "USB
wireless weather forecaster" (which is the model you want from their
list, it's the only one which interfaces with a PC) to ~£70 for a few
weeks. If you wait long enough, they may do so again.

Concur with this completely. Several of us on here use the excellent
Cumulus software. The Maplin Weather station (and there are several
others identical on eBAy and elsewhere under names like Watson and Fine
Offset) is probably the best bet under £80-100. They are very good and
can be calibrated as well via the Cumulus software if you feel any of
the readings are a little bit out. Don't rely on the housing supplied
for temperature though - it gets too warm in summer so put in the shade
or make your own,

You could of course just get a small temperature/humidity datalogger.
Would involve a bit more effort downloading, say weekly, but would do
the job.
