Default Leaves still on trees

Question from a layman.

After the storm of October 1987 much was said about the damage to
trees
being bad due to the fact that they were still in leaf.

It is now the end of November and there are still lots of leaves on
the
trees here in Sussex.

Is the fall of leaves gradually getting later?

you can choose the species and event (in this case leaf fall) etc., and
see trends.

From my experience over 50-odd years, then I would say that leaf-fall
(deciduous) trees is getting later here in the Thames Valley.

Martin.
