That got me looking at my records. Even though I'm well out of the CET
area, the results are much the same:-

2008 Dec -0.8
2009 Jan -0.6
2009 Feb -0.1
2009 Dec -1.5
2010 Jan -2.3
2010 Feb -0.8
2010 Dec Looks like being -4 or colder

The anomalies are slightly smaller as you would expect in such a
maritme influenced spot.

It was Jan '09 that gave the lowest temperatures here, including an
exceptional -6.1C, my lowest minima by a full degree. (Records start
1992)

The light snow flurries occasionally just clipping the tip of Cornwall
don't show up on the rainfall radar, but the line can be seen on
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_vis.html and can
sometimes be seen on http://www.sennen-cove.com/today2.htm

It will only need a slight backing of the wind for them to develop
properly.
