Thanks for that link, Martin. Remarkable photos of 60 cm snow on the
Mediterranean coast.

I think February 1956 is the coldest month of all in the Belgian and Dutch
records. I believe it was a bit less severe in the UK - though I
remember playing as a 6-year-old in the garden at home in snowdrifts up to
my thighs.
