... steady thaw of lying snow yesterday afternoon and through the night:
the thin snow cover which represented 70% yesterday 09Z has dropped
dramatically (due to loss of the very thin component overnight) to ~25%
this morning.

Just (1150z) been out to measure the depth: ~6cm. I haven't kept track
of the various depths over the last 10 days or so, but I think it was
~12cm last week sometime. Hope this afternoon's rain will take out the rest.
