Noriced on some of the METAR reports this morning for Gatwick - (EGKK)
the code 88CLRD99 at the end of the ob anyone know what this might be?
As an example:

EGKK 271950Z 13007KT 110V170 CAVOK 03/M01 Q1014 88CLRD99
EGKK 280650Z 12004KT 090V170 4000 BR BKN004 03/03 Q1012 88CLRD99

The code is known as a SNOWTAM and details the runway state.
http://www.b737mrg.net/downloads/b73...owtammetar.pdf
is a useful decode.

In the Gatwick example it indicates the runway has been cleared, although
given they haven't had any snow recently it's a bit puzzling as to why it's
on there.
