Default NW England cold on Friday night: Shap -9.4°C minimum

It seems likely. Looking at the Met Office website, I can only access
the last 6 hours' observations. At 14:00 the temperature was 7.8°C and
it fell steadily thereafter. Pressure was high and the wind very light,
so any dramatic change in temperature over the preceding few hours seems
unlikely. The previous day to 18:00 had a max of 6.0, so it's not a
hang-over from yesterday evening.
