Default Another gloomy day

Less wet than expected, but another terribly gloomy day for much of

Looking outside now it seems more like January or November than late
February, with meteorological spring just a week away. Still, hoping
that Thursday's ridge and the intense high due in just under a week
will improve things.

Does anyone take measurements of light level (as opposed to sunshine)
during daylight hours, say every hour between sunrise and sunset? It's
been the intensely dull nature of the cloud, rather than the
cloudiness per se, which has been noticeable this February. Seems to
be delaying nature despite the mild temperatures, too: the countryside
round here (Hampshire) still seems to be in a mid-winter slumber. I'm
sure it was more advanced 2 years ago, following much more in the way
of cold post-Christmas weather - but also less dull.

Same here in Northampton Nick, 5 consecutive days of relentless
gloom.
A few blobs of snow observed for a while this morning (does this count
as a snow falling day?) Moderate rainfall now returned.
All the daffs around here are primed to open but the low light level
and cool temps are holding them back.
Even my flower and vege seedlings in the conservatory seem to have
stopped growing!
Ah well brighter days will follow and will seem all the better after
the gloom.

Cheers
