Default Big Freeze on its way??

No matter what anyone else thinks may happen this winter, the conditions
thus far are very different from more recent years. When I worked for BT in
Old Street, London, I distinctly remember a spell of weather lasting for
weeks, where there was constant cloud cover, I think it may have been in
December 1996. January 1997 was cold with air frosts both day and night for
quite some time, in fact it was the coldest January weather since that
dreadful winter of January 1987, at least in the Southeast.

I think events this year are most definitely worth keeping an eye on...

I keep hearing references to "the very cold winter ahead" or "the big
freeze we have coming" on news and current affairs programmes on radio
and TV. These predictions seem to have evolved into fact as far as the
media are concerned, I agree with your concerns, Jack.

Norman.

I had the Magic music channel on last night (bit sad I know) and there's
a looping trailer that mentions a snowy Christmas ahead or something.
I won't repeat what I said.

Jon.
