Abdominal? ???

No autumnal :-)

Front passed over here around 1830, gloomy enough to turn the odd
street light on but very little rain. Brightening to the NW now.
Oh for a Continental climate... warm sunshine, winter snow and
dramatic summer thunderstorms guaranteed...

Did I not read in the newspaper that the Met Office wre predicitng two
weeks of record temperatures for the UK? This was last week.

Have they got it wrong again?

No you didn't. They predicted no such thing. You've made it up.- Hide quoted text -

Why on earth would I do that? Stupid boy. I read it in at least two
separate publications, and it was attributed to the Met Office. As
most forecasting cock-ups are, these days.

If you read things like that in the paper it is always a good idea to go
and verify it by looking on the Met Office site to be sure. It is not
unknown for newspapers (mostly of the tabloid variety) to misinterpret,
exaggerate or just completely get the wrong end of the stick with
weather reports.
