Well it was being widely forecast on the "official" BBC forecasts.


.... except for here in NE England where they were forecasting 'white
cloud' PM, this was a new type of white cloud known only to the BBC
forecasters as at around 1600BST there was a huge TS and a huge
backbuilding TS slightly later with lightning at 2-3/min + hail + huge
raindrops.

By 1700BST the murk had come in from the coast and killed it all stone dead.
