Very localised rain around Northampton
At last we have had some measurable rain here at 8 o'clock this evening.
Unfortunately I can't give an accurate figure because the rain gauge was all
gunged up, and was recording 0.6mm each time it incremented instead of the
correct 0.3mm. (Oh boy, but that sounds bad. Is television so boring that
it's more exciting watching the AWS these days?) That has now been cured.
Weather station shows 8.7mm, which is most definitely wrong, since 3.3mm of
that was me tinkering with it. I guess it should be about 3mm, which all
fell in about 10 minutes.
Pitsford shows 14.62mm for the day, somewhat different, but that I can
believe. When I was out with the dog this evening, I could see it absolutely
****ing down about 3 miles to the north (Pitsford area) and another deluge
about 5 miles to the west (Sean's neck of the woods). We managed to miss it
all. Water butt's now full up. Hurray!
