coming up with severe drought for the SE. The conditions were changing
as the hack wrote and the MetO had already picked up a change in its
forecasts, though the drought orders were issued when particular
criteria had been fulfilled. The difficulty is in the accuracy of long-
term forecasts, which is poor.

This was a Guardian hack who doesn't understand anything about long-
term forecasting accuracy, or its difficulties ( and it would have
"stuck in my craw" as well)..............but neither, unfortunately,
