Your website ("orange") shows mean sunshine at Copley as 1480 hrs. Not
too bad for that latitude surely - and better than Durham's 1375 hrs
(1971-2000). But your July total is looking pretty lousy.

Hi, Rupert,
Annual sunshine total is good here for altitude and latitude. The Durham
recorder is not too well exposed imho and anyway is shrouded in lowland mist
and North Sea stratus more than we are. We are also often above the winter
inversions. Our dullest season, percentage of possible-wise, is summer
unfortunately. The other seasons are good. We do especially well with
airflows from south-west clockwise to north west because of the shelter of
the high Pennines and Lake District fells.
Best wishes,
Ken
