*European overview*

27th JULY 2011

Max °C Min °C Rain (mm)
8.7 5.1 - Ny Alesund(8m)

Is this far enough north to be getting the midnight sun at this time
of year? If not, I'd have expected a higher diurnal range.

It's on Spitzbergen, isn't it? If so, the maritime nature of the
location is going to tend to keep the diurnal range down. Also even if
it's not quite getting the midnight sun, it is only going to be below
the horizon for a couple of hours.

I just dug out an old sunrise/set calculating spreadsheet I found years
ago, and at NY Alesund's latitude, the midnight sun lasts from
17/4-26/8.
