first one around 09Z was distant and muffled, second around 0913Z
had an initial 'crack' then drifted away to a rumble in the
distance.

Rain since ~02Z, moderate bursts since 05Z, moderate, isolated
heavy, since 0730Z ... total rainfall 9 mm.

.... (1050Z): just come back from the shops / drowned rat comes to mind
.... 34 mm since early hours, with the bulk of that coming since 0730Z:
local traffic reports suggest many roads flooded and the local roads
here are having trouble getting rid of water - not helped by tree
debris blocking the drains!
