As my job has moved to the other side of Southampton, I missed all the
"fun".



Total rain today since midnight: 55.6mm or roughly 2.2 inches, of which 34mm
fell in the hour between 10am and 11am.



To put it in context, twice as much rain fell today as in the whole of March
and April combined (26.2mm)

The average rainfall for August in Bournemouth is roughly 35mm, so we had a
month's rainfall in that one hour.



What is also notable is that it has been exceptionally cool today.
Temperatures have hovered around the 13c mark all day and even dipped below
the 12c mark for a time during the late morning. I cannot find an August day
which has been so cool by day in my records going back to 1996.
