Just been out for me first twilight walk in some time and I'd swear
those autumn leaves are well ahead of schedule, In recent years I
remember premature browning due to drought, here in the SE, but this
summer we've had plenty of watering. Anyone else feel they're a tad

Well I was looking at my sycamore tree this afternoon in the strong sunshine
and a lot of the leaves are now turning brown. I don't keep records but that
may be a week or so earlier than normal. Other trees are still in full leaf
but it does *feel* autumnal with a softer light, hanging baskets past their
best, runner beans coming into harvest with shrubs' leaves starting to turn
and flowers fading etc. Single figure minimums are now becoming the norm
again and obviously the days are turning shorter. So yes, autumn is
practically upon us with winter just around the corner (only 3 months to
wait now Lawrence!).
