If Cornwall is like most parts of England, then cool and dry is an
unusual combination in summer. I have an idea that the summer of 1962
was like that, though.

May I ask how these summers compare if you just take the mean maximum,
rather than the daily average mean?

After all, I dont suppose many non-meteorological people bother too
much about the night minimum unless it is too warm to sleep.
