Here's one to take you back to the good old nostalgic days, remember it
well, Ventnor was cut off for 10 days, the old man was pouring the milk
down the drain as the milk lorry couldn't get through..

A month I remember well. I was a teenager living in Jersey during that
winter where on the 19th January even the sea froze opposite our house on St
Aubin's Bay. That day the maximum temperature was 23F with a strong easterly
blowing direct from France only 9 miles away. It snowed lightly all day.
On the 3rd January Jersey was in slightly milder air to the south of the
front which brought all the snow to southern England, and I recall how
disappointed I was that Jersey missed it! However, Jersey remained in cold
air for much of that winter with further snow at times. Even the sea
temperature at St Helier fell to 37F in February
