For some years I have kept a monthly/yearly colour coded table that I
can scroll up and down and try to find similar months for temperature
and rainfall.

The colour coding has blue for temperature 1°C below the average, red,
for 1°C above the average. Rainfall, yellow, 50% below average, green,
50% above average.

I've made some assumptions for October but I have an almost identical
set of 4 months from July through to October as 1978. It would be
intersting if a similar pattern was in areas to the NW of the UK.

But when I then look at the following winter of 1979 ALL three months
January, February & March were below the 1°C average.

This is not a prediction, just an observation, but thought I would
share this with you.

Incidentally, November 1978 was again mild and dry, December was then
average.
