RMK: cloud cover gradually thinning/breaking up through day - a fine,
bright afternoon, with occasional strong sunshine and a gentle breeze.
Unless we get some cloud/wind soon, visibility is going to drop quite
smartly from current 8km (8000 coded above).

RMK: Looks like the cloud will save us! ST (= stratus) base circa
1000ft and SC around 2500ft: total cover 7 oktas - stars clearly visible
through breaks so not much above (BR = mist in METAR coding)=
