It's not speculation.
I recall him saying that he was posting less because of all the
arguing, which didn't happen in the early days of the group,
and ultimately he seems to have left because of it.

Why should I do that?
I remember perfectly well that he was complaining about the
group taking a turn for the worse and he was starting to feel
that he didn't want to post anymore. I do not need to e-mail
him to confirm what I already know.

In fact it is you that seems to be unsure as to why he left, so
why don't *you* e-mail him?

I have Col. I've exchanged emails with Phil on a number of occasions.
That's why I've asked, in the nicest of ways, that you email him and
ask. I'm sure Phil will reply and explain.

On another thread somebody said it was to do with political
arguments. That's good enough for me.
